Permanent Representatives of Turkmenistan and Pakistan to the Economic Cooperation Organization Met in Tehran
On August 17, 2026, a meeting was held in Tehran between the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Islamic Republic of Iran and Permanent Representative to the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), and the newly appointed Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Islamic Republic of Iran and Permanent Representative to the ECO, Imran Ahmed Siddiqui.
During the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their mutual commitment to the consistent development of cooperation within international organizations, primarily within authoritative international bodies such as the United Nations.
They also exchanged views on key agenda items for events planned jointly with member states during Pakistan’s chairmanship of the Economic Cooperation Organization for 2026–2027.
In this regard, organizational and preparatory matters for the 30th Meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Economic Cooperation Organization, scheduled to take place on November 15–16, 2026, in Islamabad, were discussed.
The parties emphasized the importance of regular political dialogue and constructive interaction in strengthening and expanding cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
