Ambassador of Turkmenistan meets with the President of the Equestrian Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran

On 15 August 2026, a meeting was held between Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Islamic Republic of Iran Y.Gayypov and President of the Equestrian Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mahmoud Heydari.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on bilateral cooperation in the field of equestrian sports, as well as on events being held under the motto «Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – Homeland of the Purposeful Winged Horses».

In this regard, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan provided a detailed explanation of the substantive and symbolic significance of the international events to be held in the upcoming period. He also elaborated on the specific features of the work being carried out to develop equestrian sports in accordance with the initiatives of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, as well as under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan.

In this connection, the President of the Equestrian Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran was presented with an invitation to participate in the international events dedicated to Akhal-Teke horses, which will be held from 4 to 6 September 2026 in the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

M.Heydari expressed his gratitude to the Turkmen side for the invitation and noted that the promotion of Turkmen Akhal-Teke horses on the international stage and the development of equestrian sports are of particular importance under the direct leadership and patronage of the President of Turkmenistan and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan.

In addition, the Iranian side proposed exploring opportunities to establish cooperation between the Aba Annaev International Equestrian Academy and relevant institutions of the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as to organize joint equestrian competitions in Turkmenistan and Iran.
