A TELEPHONE CONVERSATION TOOK PLACE BETWEEN THE PRESIDENT OF TURKMENISTAN AND THE PRESIDENT OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION

On June 19, 2020, a telephone conversation took place between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

Warmly welcoming each other, the leaders of the two countries expressed satisfaction with the opportunity to exchange views on priority issues of traditionally friendly interstate relations, which are in the nature of strategic partnership, and relevant aspects of regional and international issues.

During the conversation, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov congratulated President Vladimir Putin on the upcoming Victory Day celebrations to be held in Moscow on June 24 and wished all the anniversary events to be successful.

As President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized, Turkmen troops will take part in the anniversary military parade of Victory in the Russian capital. The delegation of Turkmenistan at the festivities in Moscow will be led by Minister of Defense Major General Begench Gundogdyev.

Following the telephone conversation, the heads of the two states discussed key areas of bilateral cooperation, which has impressive potential in various sectors.

At the end of the conversation, Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Vladimir Putin, expressing confidence that the traditional interstate dialogue, based on long-standing ties of friendship and good neighborliness, will successfully develop, gaining new content, exchanged best wishes to each other and the peoples of both countries.
