Turkmenistan National team has 62 medals: 29 gold, 21 silver and 12 bronze

Sport relay of Ashgabat 2017 Games is picking up revolutions. September 18 was very successful for Turkmenistan National team that supplemented the collection of sport achievements of the country with 25 different medals including 13 gold, 7 silver and 5 bronze. This achievement improved the leadership of our team in total medal count. By the outcomes of all days, national team has 62 medals including 29 gold, 21 silver and 12 bronze.

Today, as it was expected the success was on our side during Turkmen national wrestling Gyoresh competitions. The awards were contested in classic style in all weight categories. Sam as on September 16 when the medals in free style were contended, Turkmen wrestlers showed the best results, having demonstrated again high level of skills in native sports. 

19 sportsmen of Turkmenistan national team were in the final. It was only our compatriots who compete in 6 final contests what have already guaranteed the first and second places in this weight categories.

Hence, gold medals in men’s classic national wrestling were won by Rejepaly Orazaliyev (above 100 kg), Seydi Batyrov (up to 100 kg), Allanur Gochov (57 kg), Ismail Orazov (62 kg), Dovletgeldy Berdiyev (68 kg), Rejecpgeldy Gylychniyazov (75 kg), Hanmuhammed Patdayev (82 kg) and Murgapgeldy Atdayev (90 kg).

Jahan Muhamedova (above 70 kg), Lachyn Badagliyeva (52 kg), Zuhra Madarimova (58 kg), Gulnar Hayitbayeva (63 kg) and Nasiba Surkiyeva (70 kg) won the gold in women competitions. 

Jepbar Atamammedov (above 100 kg), Kerim Rejepov (100 kg), Satlyk Myradov (57 kg), Iskender Ashyrov (62 kg), Arslan Hojamberdiyev (68 kg) and Byashim Orazov (75 kg) have silver medals in this wrestling. 

Maksuda Egemberdiyeva (above 70 kg), Zarina Abdyrahmanova (58 kg) and Rano Uzakova (70 kg) won the bronze in women national Turkmen wrestling. 

While the awards in Gyoresh have already found their winners, jujitsu competitions are still ongoing. The day was filled with the contests, which were held in Ne-waza style where mostly bronze medals were competed. Mergen Jorayev (85 kg) and Janibel Atajanov (94 kg) received the third place.

Competitions in Thai boxing are continuing. First round fights have been completed and the winners continue competitions in the tournament. Turkmenistan citizens Nurgelldy Atayev (up to 63.5 kg) and Muahmmetnur Melayev (75 kg) were qualified for quarter final having won Chan Chi Lam (Macao) and Alijon Isroilov (Uzbekistan) accordingly.

The first medals were contested in taekwondo. Both gold medals in this sport in weight categories 74 and 54 kg were won by the representatives of Iran team in men competitions. The sportsman from the People’s Republic of China was the best in women contests in weight category 46 kg.

Power lifters also started competitions on the same day. Representative of our women team Yulduz Jumabayeva in weight category up to 48 kg won the silver having scored 189 kg in both jerk and snatch and yielded only one kilogram to the sportsman of the People’s Republic of China.

Track and field athletes also started the contest for medals. In pentathlon competitions, Irina Velihanova was a bit short to get to the podium who were the fourth. 

Turkmenistan national futsal team confidently beat Hong Kong in A group with 7:1 score. On the third minute, our compatriots opened the score followed after by other two goals. In the beginning of the second half, the competitors lost for goals. The only thing that Hong Kong managed is to requite one goal. Serdar Rejepov scored double for Turkmen team in this match. 

Owing to this victory, our team became closer to the match with Solomon Islands team that won Chinese Taipei in the second match with 4:3 score. Now, Solomon Islands team has 6 points and Turkmenistan and Taipei have 3 points but at the same time, our team played one match less.

Afghanistan team is in the top in B group. It won the second match against Maldives with 6:1 score. Uzbekistan took over the UAE (5:1) and is on the second position. 

Japan won Lebanon with 5:2 score in C group.

Two matches were held in D group: Iran team beat Tahiti 6:1 and Jordan team took over Kyrgyzstan with 7:1 score. 

The first round matches continued on tennis courts. Turkmen player Anastasia Prenko lost in two sets to Kamila Kerimbayeva from Kazakhstan and left the competitions. The following day, other two representatives of our team Yuri Rogusskiy and Jahan Bayramova will join the competitions. 

Racings on the cycling track of the Olympic village have started in the evening. The medals were contested in men team sprint. Iran national team won the gold in this discipline. 

The next day promised to be more loaded. Belt wrestling, billiard, 3x3 basketball competitions are to be started. Futsal and tennis layers will continue competitions for the medals, cycle racings will be held, track and field athletes and power lifters will be contesting and the fighters in jujitsu, Thai boxing and taekwondo will meet their contesters.
