A number of events, dedicated to the creative work of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Makhtumkuli-Firagi were held in Tehran

On June 17, 2026, a conference entitled «The Voice of Unity and Cultural Renaissance in the Region of the Economic Cooperation Organization» was held at the Culture Institute of the Economic Cooperation Organization, dedicated to the life and works of Magtymguly Pyragy.

The conference was attended by ambassadors and diplomats of foreign states accredited in Tehran, scholars specializing in Magtymguly studies, cultural and artistic figures, and representatives of the public. During the event, speeches were delivered by the President of the Culture Institute, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan, a Professor of History at the National University of Tajikistan, the Director of the «Turkmen Cultural House» Art Institute in the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as literary scholars.

The speakers highlighted the prominent place of the Turkmen poet Magtymguly Pyragy in both national and world literature, the study of his literary heritage, new findings related to his life and creative work, and his philosophical ideas. Particular attention was given to the significance of such noble themes in his poetry as patriotism, unity, justice, and humanism. Video presentations dedicated to the poet were also shown during the event.

In addition, the participants highly praised the efforts of the President of Turkmenistan and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag, in promoting and popularizing the literary legacy of Magtymguly Pyragy worldwide.

On June 16, 2026, a cultural event dedicated to the poetry of Magtymguly Pyragy was also held at Kharazmi University in Tehran.

The event was attended by the Ambassadors of Turkmenistan and Tajikistan to the Islamic Republic of Iran, the President of the Culture Institute of the Economic Cooperation Organization, representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Culture of the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as Iranian Turkmens.

During the event, participants delivered presentations on the life and works of Magtymguly Pyragy, recited his poems, performed songs based on his poetry, and presented a number of stage performances reflecting Turkmen culture, art, and literature.
